Online Therapy in Connecticut for What Still Feels Unresolved

Online Therapy in Connecticut for What Still Feels Unresolved

Therapy in New Jersey for Patterns That No Longer Fit the Life You Want

Trauma therapy, EMDR, DBT-informed therapy, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care available virtually throughout Connecticut

You may understand why a particular experience still affects you and wonder why that understanding has not changed how you feel.

You may recognize the pattern but continue to become overwhelmed, withdraw, react, or lose contact with what you need when the pattern appears. Or you may be looking for a space where identity, relationships, trauma, and emotional intensity can be explored without reducing your experience to a diagnosis or a single therapeutic method.

I provide online therapy throughout Connecticut for people who want to understand what continues to affect them and begin responding with greater awareness, flexibility, and intention.

You do not need to determine the right modality before reaching out. We can begin with what is happening in your life and consider together what kind of support may fit.

Therapy That Is Available Across Connecticut

The Approach Should Fit You, Not the Other Way Around

Online therapy can make specialized care available without limiting your options to the providers located closest to you.

I work virtually with clients located throughout Connecticut, including people in larger cities, shoreline communities, suburban areas, and smaller inland towns.

For some people, telehealth makes therapy easier to incorporate into a demanding schedule. For others, it provides access to trauma-informed or LGBTQIA+ affirming care that may not be readily available in their immediate community.

Online therapy also allows you to meet from a familiar, private environment without adding travel, parking, or additional transition time to the day.

The setting may be different from an office, but the work remains personal and collaborative. Sessions provide room to slow down, recognize what is happening beneath a reaction, and work with the emotional, relational, or behavioral patterns affecting your life.

You will need to be physically located in Connecticut at the time of your session. We can discuss privacy, technology, and whether telehealth is appropriate for your needs during the initial consultation.

Affirming Therapy Without Making Your Identity the Problem

You may be looking for therapy where you do not have to spend the first part of every conversation explaining or defending who you are.

LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy can provide space to explore relationships, identity, family dynamics, belonging, intimacy, grief, life transitions, trauma, or other concerns within the full context of your life.

Your identity is not automatically the reason you are seeking therapy. At the same time, discrimination, rejection, concealment, family expectations, minority stress, or questions about safety and acceptance may affect how you experience yourself and your relationships.

Therapy can hold both realities without assuming that every LGBTQIA+ person has the same history, concerns, or goals

Our work may involve understanding patterns within relationships, developing boundaries, processing harmful experiences, strengthening emotional regulation, or creating more room to live in ways that feel honest and aligned with who you are.

Different Patterns May Require Different Ways of Working

The concern bringing you to therapy may not fit neatly within one category.

A present-day reaction may be connected to an earlier experience. Relationship conflict may activate fear, shame, withdrawal, or a need to remain in control. Emotional intensity may make it difficult to communicate clearly or act in ways that reflect what you actually want.

I draw from trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, DBT-informed skills, CBT, existential therapy, and other approaches depending on your history, goals, readiness, and response to the work.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy can help you understand how distressing, repeated, developmental, or relational experiences continue to affect your emotions, beliefs, relationships, and responses in the present.

The work does not require you to describe every experience immediately. We can begin by developing context, recognizing patterns, and creating enough stability to approach difficult material thoughtfully.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR is a structured therapeutic approach that may help reduce the emotional intensity associated with distressing memories, beliefs, experiences, and triggers.

Preparation and readiness come before processing. EMDR may be provided through telehealth when it is appropriate for the client, the circumstances, and the stage of treatment.

DBT-Informed Individual Therapy

DBT-informed therapy may help you recognize what happens during moments of emotional activation and strengthen your ability to respond more intentionally.

The work may include emotional
regulation, distress tolerance, communication, boundaries, and identifying alternatives to reactions that provide immediate relief but create longer-term difficulty.

No single approach is automatically right for every person. We can determine together which methods may be useful and adjust the work as your needs become clearer.

Presence Still Matters When Therapy Happens Through a Screen

I’m Joe Bioletti, MA, LPC.

My approach is warm, genuine, and collaborative. I want therapy to provide room for reflection while also helping us identify what keeps a pattern active and what may help you respond differently.

Online therapy should not feel distant or impersonal.

The relationship we develop matters, including your ability to ask questions, disagree, tell me when something does not fit, or slow the process down when needed.

At the same time, therapy should not remain a conversation that produces insight without movement. Depending on what you need, our work may involve examining beliefs, recognizing triggers, strengthening emotional-regulation skills, processing particular experiences, or developing different ways of responding within relationships and everyday life.

I may integrate EMDR, DBT-informed skills, CBT, existential therapy, and other trauma-informed approaches. The method should serve the work rather than forcing your experience into a predetermined treatment formula.

We will shape the work around your needs, readiness, goals, and response to the process rather than forcing your experience into a predetermined treatment formula.
